Highlights of Pickering include the Nautical Village located at Frenchman's Bay on Lake Ontario, multiple restaurants and shops, a seasonal boardwalk and a multi-billion-dollar casino and entertainment complex know as Durham Live. Pickering has a fast growing population and thus has become a home for more intense residential development including large residential neighbourhoods currently being constructed to the north and mid/high rise condominium developments in the mid/down town areas.
